Up, Up and Away! This summer in Courchevel and Meribel 21 Jul 2020

Up, Up and Away! This summer in Courchevel and Meribel

The feeling never gets old. Taking a hike across a piste that you skied down last winter under the bluest of skies. Lunching on the terrace of your favorite mountain restaurant as the summer sun beats down. Jumping on a chairlift that's often buried in snow to experience the fresh mountain air. Summer in the mountains, and in particular Les 3 Vallées, is full of endless surprises. And let's not forget that during the summer season, Courchevel lift passes are absolutely free!

Indeed, such is the naturally socially distanced arrangement of summer holidays in the mountains, Courchevel and the rest of Les 3 Vallées area have retained the majority of their events for this summer season. Here's a summary of what we have to look forward to this year.

23rd of July - Pyrosymphony Live

A stunning display! Image: Courchevel Tourisme

Courchevel - Performed by the spectacular Orchester de pays de Savoie and with the mountains as a backdrop, this event combines a dazzling firework display with the dramatic accompaniment of classical music. Courchevel does this kind of event perfectly and it's free to join in, but you'll need to reserve your space in advance by clicking HERE.

2nd of August- Hoka One One XTrail

Courchevel - Trail runners, assemble. This is one of the most extreme high altitude events in Europe this summer, but it's also brilliantly accessible too. With four different distances available, starting at 11km and culminating in the 50km distance, the Hoka One One XTrail takes in some of the most sublime terrain in Courchevel. You can expect to see professional trail runners from across Europe compete in this event and there's always a great atmosphere at the finish line! Discover more HERE.

5th of August - Manali Lodge Golf Competition - The Alpine Collection Cup

A 9 hole paradise in the heart of the mountains!

Courchevel - Set to become one of the highlights of the golfing calendar in Courchevel, this high profile, inaugural event takes place on the perfectly maintained 9-hole course, located 2000m above sea level. The views will take your breath away! Open to all, the golf competition is accompanied by a delicious snack on the course, provided by Bistrot Manali. The winners will then be crowned at an exclusive awards ceremony at the end of the day with cocktails and a dinner with a special menu concocted by Chef Antony Trezy.

You can register for the event HERE.

16th of August - Felt X3

Courchevel - A triathlon, but not as you know it. The Felt X3 combines a 3500m row, a 12.2km cycle and a 9.8km run and finishes on the Courchevel altiport. This one is not for the feint hearted as it's gained a reputation as one of the most challenging contests in the mountains this summer. There's prize money available too, though we're sure the glory of just finishing this event will be reward enough! Discover more and register in advance HERE.

16th of September - The Tour de France

All eyes on the Col de la Loze this September!

Méribel and Courchevel - The eyes of the world will be on the Col de la Loze come Wednesday 16th September as Stage 17 of the 2020 Tour de France, along with its enormous support fleet, arrives in Meribel. Hosting a stop-over of Le Tour is a very prestigious occasion for any mountain resort and we can expect the atmosphere to be electric. Stage 18 departures from Meribel Altiport the very next day.
